My mother is 2 and a half years post op, and last night she asked me who my angel is. I didn't want to feel stupid, so I just said I forgot and laughed it off LOL

So my question is, when it comes to WLS what is an Angel, and where do I get one?

Sorry if you saw this elsewhere, I am just at a loss for this I guess LOL

I think its a person who prays for you the day of your surgery and keep you motivated. I think or something like that! :)

An Angel is the person that prays for you on your day of surgery and keeps everyone posted on how the surgery goes and how you are doing post op. They help keep you motivated and are basically there for you as a support person. You just post on a board and ask if someone is willing to be your Angel. You tend to get a little more of a response on the main board from people that are a little further out of surgery compared to people that are pretty newly post op themselves.

I've been a WLS angel a few times and a post-op Pregnancy angel several times.  Basically it's someone who is in touch with you the day of your surgery to let the board know how you're doing.  That person is also a good source of motivation for you, post-op.  In a sense, the angel kind of becomes your long distance weight loss friend.  Hope that makes sense!

At my surgeons office they have "Angels" who will come visit you in the hospital if you want them to on the day of  your surgery and afterwards for support and motivation...Kinda like an AA sponsor I guess.
