how quickly...
Did you drop sizes shortly after surgery? My surgery is Tuesday the 5th, and I'm moving back to Texas almost exactly a month later. I'm trying to get some things packed in boxes since I know ill sort of be out of commision for about 2 weeks. I know I obviously won't go down from a size 22/24 to a 14 in that time period, and I know it varies for everyone. I'm just trying to figure out which clothes can be packed up and which might need to stay out.
Like I said I know one persons experience may not be the same as the next, but I'm just looking for some personal stories for a guideline.
I was a 26/28 the day of my surgery 7 weeks ago. I wore pajams up until 2 weeks ago. Well when I put on all my too small clothes which they were before surgery now they are all my too big clothes. I am now in a size 22. I cried and cried when I put the clothes on. So use your judgement. I also didnt leave my house becuase I was so depress so I didnt have the need for putting anything on. Good luck to you.
You lose inches quickly too.!
I can see my neck!
for me, i was in a 32 at the time of my surgery, except stretch pants i could fit into a 28. After I had lost 65 lbs i still couldn't fit into my size 28 jeans, and was wearing teh 32s. i was so shocked that 60 lbs gone and i was still wearing the same size pants?!?! but then one day all of the sudden I fit into those jeans, and now they are getting too big. - so thats my pants experience. -'m only 3 months out
shirts are a lot different for me. i was wearing 30s and now i can fit into 24s or even 22s.
i would leave whatever size your wearing at the time of your surg handy, and maybe just a few things that are one size smaller, depending on how much you lose on the all liquid diet before, if your doing that.
but your right, everyones different!!! GOOD LUCK

I lost 20lbs in my first 2 weeks post op. I also wore sweat pants for the first 2 weeks as well. I could fit into the same size that I wore the day of surgery they were just loose fitting so keep that size out and then maybe 1 or 2 sizes smaller just in case. Sweats were my friend though because I didn't like anything tight on my tummy for 2-3 weeks after surgery. good luck and keep us posted on how ur surgery goes
Thanks so much! I guess ill keep a few size 20s out. I actually don't have to do a preop diet (I know strange!) So I'm thinking ill have a pretty rapid weight loss immediatley following surgery, and then have things taper off. I know with the pre op you loose a lot of the water weight ahead of time.
Thanks again!
I think it depends on the person how fast you drop sizes, but I dropped sizes pretty fast. I was a 24/26W when I had my WLS and less than 2 mos later, I was a 16/18. Then, at 4 mos out, I was wearing an 11/13 juniors. It all happened fast and it seemed like I actually skipped some sizes. I would pack a little of each size, but then I'm known for overpacking LoL.
