Newbie-Surgery soon!
Hello ladies and gents! My name is Crystal and I am 27 years old. I have three small children age 6, 4 and 10 months old. I was sure busy during my twenties, eh? lol My husband and I have been married for almost three years now, and he is technically "step dad" to my two oldest, but you'd never know it. I met him at one of lowest points in my life and he has been amazing. He is a huge support for me while I go through everything for surgery.
I am glad to have found this board for extra support! From being told "you won't need plastic surgery, you're so young" or "OMG How could you risk your life to get skinny" comments I get from my friends, I felt I needed to find a group of people that get it and get me.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Welcome to the board and congratulations on getting everything together for surgery, I know it can be such a mentally draining experience...but you have a lot of support here!
I have a going on 3 year old son, so I'm always amazed at people's ability to handle more than that at once...lol. We also have a few moms and moms to be here too.
Good you found us!
~Emily~
My name is Taylor and I am 20 years old.
I just wanted to say good luck to you!! It's nice you have such a good husband, he will defiantly be able to help you through when you get the surgery. I haven't had mine yet but I heard that it does take some time to recover and that you aren't allowed to lift much weight even if the procedure is done laparoscopically.
Taylor, that is one thing I am dreading. Not being able to pick up my daughter will be tough. She is my only girl and is a total cuddly princess. my boys are old enough to explain things to, but her she won't have a clue why I can't pick her up!
I am doing this for them though. My mother had the RNY two years ago, and I am having it now. My little brother is a candidate for surgery and I don't want this cycle to continue with my kids.
Thank you for the warm welcome!

I'm a 20s mama, too. : )
I was really stressing the lifting restriction. My three year old is disabled. She doesn't walk so I carry her EVERYWHERE. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said absolutely no lifting her for 1 week, only totally necessary lifting for week 2, and by week 3 should be fine.
Since your hubby is a stay at home dad, that should help out a ton! I'm doing things now like turning her crib into a toddler bed, teaching her how to climb up into her high chair, etc to make it easier by the time surgery day is here.
Good luck to you!
Corey
hi wellcome to the board n congrats!
hell yeah i would risk my life to be skiny!!! hahahaha i would do it agan to be a lil more skiny lol. (shame on me). if you have a good surgeron and aftercare you'll be just fine. i know the decition was harder for yo cuz u have kids of your own. but is gonna worth it now they are gonna have a healthy mom.
and yes i do need plastics,(24 years old, 2 years out) my arms look terrible! n im looking foward to have a TT. and maybe my uper thights also, but im not sure about that. it also depends of how long have you been over weight. im fat since im 7 years old i 've never been thing before so i gues thats why my skin didn`t react as well as expected. but i know a few that have being thin in some point or they were over weight nor not too long, n they look fabulos. i guess it depends of genetics n that kinda stuff. lets keep finger crossed so u don`t have any skin problems
good luck n keep us posted.
hugs.
