Oh so glad that I found YOU...

Hey everybody!!!

My name is Jessica, and I am so glad that I found you today!  I have been lurking on the main and RNY board for a couple months now, but I THINK this is the place for me...

I am almost 25 years old, and having RNY in January.   I have had several complications along the way but oh so ready for the change in my life...

I just wanted to say hello, and introduce my self...  Please feel free to do the same!  :-)

***I also wanted to add that my surgeon called me on Sunday morning, and I know what you are thinking, who works on a Sunday morning, well my surgeon does!  lol  She had got my test results back on my EGD, and I tested positive for cancer cells in my esophagus...  I was so freaking scared, I started to freak out (In the past 5 years I have lost my mom, grandmother, 2 aunts, and an uncle to cancer, the BIG "C" word SCARES me!!!)  But she was so re assuring to me, that there was a reason that I decided to have this surgery, and maybe God brought me to her, to find this in the WAY early stages, she said that it can be taken care of in surgery, and not to worry about it!  I was so re-leaved, but still scary!!! ***

 Hi Jessica!

We are thankful you found us because it sounds like you need some good support right about now and we are here for you!

I'm sorry to hear about your EDG results, I can't imagine how terrifying that must be.  But, you are doing such a great thing for yourself by having surgery and maybe by becoming healthier, you're body will respond to that and help put anything into remission.  I try to just take everything one day at a time and that's probably not bad advice for you to at this point.

I'm glad you found us!

Hi Jess,
I'm new to this board too, but wanted to say Hi! Congratulations on jumping thru all the hoops for your WLS- you're almost there!

I lost a grandfather to esophageal cancer, and the doctors said it was a shame they didn't find it in the beginning stages since its so easily treated. I'm glad they can take care of it in surgery for you. Your RNY is going to save your life on all sorts of levels. ;)

Best of luck to you!
