Your whole life when you have pants ranging the span of 5 different sizes! Last night I descided I'd sort through all my pants and fold them into piles based on size so as I droped the weight I could see what I already have and will need! I have thing ranging from size 24 down to 16s and one pair that is probably a 14. Crazy right? All I know is I can't wait for eveything I own to be too big! Has anyone else done this? Do any of you do mail clothes exchanges to save money? Am I the only person who is more concerned about the number in their pants than the number on the scale? Lol

I know at the support group meeting I had went to they had a rack where you could put thing that were too big and take anything that would fit. I was just thinking/wondering if any of the ladies here did something along those lines. For instance say you wear a 28 currently and I'm in 24s and my surgery is a month before yours. Once my 24s were too big I could mail them to you. Once they were too big for you then you'd mail them to someone else who needs them. And at the same time someone further along than me sent me there size 20s. Make sense? It might actually be too much trouble to organize. I have no idea. Lol

Morgan,

You will be AMAZED at how fast you are changing sizes once you have surgery.  I started out at a 24 pants and a 3x shirt.  About 7 years ago I did the Atkins diet and lost 134 lbs and got down to a size 8.  Then, I gained all the weight plue 30 lbs back!   So, I had clothes in all sizes ranging from 8's to 24's!!  It definitely made this journey a lot cheaper by not having to buy clothes as I was losing!   And now, 10 months later, I am wearing my size 8's :-) and I have given away all my other bigger clothes.

Good luck with your surgery next week!!

I've never done a mail clothing exchange, but I've been to different support groups who do clothing exchanges at their meetings.  I know when I was losing my weight after surgery (the rapid phase), I was actually skipping some sizes.  Goodwill/thrift stores and clearance racks were my best friends for a long time until I reached a stable size.  Be aware though, especially once you get into shopping in the more "mainstream" stores, that (for example) an 8 in one store may not be equal to an 8 in another store.  Always, always be sure to try on clothes.  I've found it fun to go try on clothes the smaller I got =)  Good luck on your WLS~ You're going to love the results!!

I totally hear ya!!   I have been jeans anywhere from a size 22 to now a size 3 (one pair, on a good day...but it still counts!).  It's crazy to think and to even hold up a pair of my old jeans to myself now.  It's super motivating though!

Clothes exchanges are great to get rid of old clothes for people who can use them.  I have nothing like that around here so I had a big garage sale last August and sold a lot.  It was nice that people could get some clothes that work and I made some cash at the same time.  Bonus.

There isn't much of a range in my jeans... :(. I only have 26s and 24s.  Although I do have a skirt that is an 18. I always get fed up and give them away. lol. I guess we can all see how much faith I had in myself when it came to losing weight.

I can't wait till I can fit into a single digit that isn't from Lane and Bryant!!

I know exactly what you mean! I want to wear a REAL size 6 not an LB size 6! Lol Don't get me wrong when the single digit sizes came out at LB it was a huge ego boost and I'm sure LB made a ton of money off those! But ill gladly leave that store in the dust!

Yeah, I was glad to see the end of LB, too, and it was BEFORE the single-digit sizes were sold there lol.  I get dirty looks going in there with friends sometimes, but I don't let it bother me.   You'll see the end of shopping there soon enough, as well~  You'll be surprised how soon.
