Am I craving soda so horribly?  I want a soda worse then anything else right now.  I've been drinking tons of crystal light and milk but its just not cutting it I want the darn soda.  My mom suggested Sprite zero but I know I can't because of the carbonation.  Did anyone else crave soda and how did you deal with it?

I know some still drink soda with ok results but I know for me, I'd be right back on the wagon because it's the carbonation I crave.

Honestly, I just worked through the cravings..sometimes minute by minute.  I drink a lot of green and herbal teas.   Sometimes busying yourself with something else will get you through as well.

Good luck, I totally know and understand how hard the soda addiction is

are you maybe just craving sugar?
i wouldnt go with the temptation.
the only suggestion i could think of is letting a diet soda defizz and drink it that way? carbonation freaks me out and im 9 months out. i think my pouch will explode or something (even though probably totally not possible or is it?)

anyways, good luck! emilys right maybe distract yourself somehow and keep busy!

I'll do a soda occassionally, but I think u might not be far enough out... even now 14 mos out, I have to put it on ice, can't drink it straight...talk about gas...

Coke is the one thing I would give anything to enjoy again. I am almost  3 months out and I have taken a few sips of soda here and there but the carbonation is too harsh and it doesn't taste the same anymore...like it lost it's flavor. After taking those sips and not enjoying it at all my cravings for it have gone way down.

I don't even know if I can handle the sugar.  I haven't tried anything to see if sugar makes me dump or what not.

I've been craving soda too!! My surgeon said it was ok if it was diet and you let it go flat... but then what's the purpose? I read on here that you can take the soda and pour it back and forth between 2 glasses 5-10 times to get rid of the carbonation. Still kinda freaks me out.

And I haven't tried sugar either so I dont know if I dum*****t. Waaayyy too afraid to find out.

Yeah I think I'm just looking for the carbonation and if I'm going to make it flat then its pointless.  I would even take a bottle of carbonated water, lol.  Something about the bubbles.  Oh well!
