i was surprised my blood work wast that bad i was kinda a hard stick but once they got me the blood started flowing :) they did that first and then did the other procedures!! I go to meet with the dr in 2 weeks and i guess it will be about 3 months before i can get a surgery date that is the facility protocol not my insurance but i am thankful that i am being educated!!!

congrats on starting the journey. it took me a very long time to take action with calling doctors & making appointments so i know how difficult it can be. if you don't mind me asking, have you decided what procedure you are going to have?

good luck with everything!

Thanks for the welcom!! I am thinking i am going to have the rny the more i read on here the more i think i am going to go with that i am going to meet with the doctor for the first time here in a week and half.  It seems that the people who have regret and complications are those who have had the lap band the facility said i could have the surgery in 3 months

the rny is what i am leaning towards as well, but i haven't met with my surgeon yet (next week)

i browsed a lot through youtube videos & it seemed that more people have had trouble with the lap band. there is always a possibility of it slipping, constantly filling/taking out the fluid in the band, getting stuck while eating & a whole bunch more. it's something i think you need to take your time on deciding. i know for my my gut instinct was for the rny.

there are pros & cons for both, but i'm sure you know what's best for you.

if you have any questions feel free to send me a message ; )

good luck & take care!
~ Valerie
