how am i going to feel about this in 20 years?
i guess i just needed to let that out, and see how you guys are dealing with that.
Then again, I may be different than a lot of people (I usually am). I did the surgery mainly for health reasons with a tiny bit of it for vanity. If it was mostly just to feel better about myself, maybe I would feel differently. But I really feel like I've been (literally) given my life back so I'll deal with whatever happens in the future when it comes. At least I'll HAVE a future now, ya know?

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
Granted, some people do develop problems post op but it's sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't. I know two ladies who've had iron deficiency issues (they are both 10+ years out) and have really struggled with that but they still don't regret their decision. What do you think you would regret about your decision?
Statistically, we have a greater chance of dying in a car accident than from surgery or anything related to. I know it's a hard, life-changing decision but it's also one of those things that we either do it or not and live with the decision we make. I know now that I am 100% happy, even though I still have some issues and I'd do it over again.
Good luck to you, I know it's scary and we are all here for you!

YOUR GONNA FEEL GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Lets be honest here, i would rather live 20 years like im feeling now!! full of life, happy enjoying things that i wasnt able to enjoy before, than live 50 years unhappy... this surgery worth it sooooo much!! even if i only live for 5 more years.
and tomorrow you could be hit by a car and die! (hopefully u won`t lol) `LIVE THE TODAY! take chances. awesome things come with great changes n sacrifices.
good luck!
as long as you do as your dr directs you to, and you accept this is going to be a life change and not a quick fix, i think 20 years from now your going to be so happy with the decison of going thru with surgery :)
*hugs*

YOUR GOING TO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AND THANK MEDICAL SCIENCE FOR MAKING YOU HEALTHY AND HOT!!!!!
I did hours of research before having my RNY and the only thing that really caught my attention was some studies done at Harvard Univ and the patients were 12 years plus Post Op and there were a couple of cases of nerve damage... you should google it... ;) very informative... But! remember everyday science is improving... So I feel GREAT about my next 20 years. :)
