I've been bad
Nothing happened when you ate THOSE foods, there still may very well be foods that will make you sick. I still can't eat certain things because of the outcome (rice, for one) so just be careful.
Think of it this way. We have to live the rest of our lives (50-60 YEARS) with our new stomachs trying to make them work for us. Our pouches will stretch out over time making weight loss harder and harder. Right now, you have it easy. Take advantage of that, don't try to speed along the inevitable and rush along the process...lose as much weight as you can now with the big restriction because it will only get harder. I'm one year out today and it's getting hard for me. I can eat way more than before, so I have to really be careful of what I put into my body. Plus, we went through all this hard work pre-op, surviving MAJOR surgery to have a new life...why mess with that just to see if you can tolerate things? Trick yourself into believing that any high sugar/fat food will make you sick....even if it won't, do you really want to find out? You deserve better than McDonald's french fries.....
I'm not perfect either, in fact, I've been horrible lately and I've been so ashamed of myself. I've been making Christmas goodies for my piano kids recital and last night I ate two lemon cookies (delicious, btw) and some almond bark pretzels. I felt like such a loser and at about 4am I was woken up to the most horrendous stomach ache that kept me up for a long time. My body was telling me something. Cookie/Almond bark = not good for Emily. I won't go through my life never eating a cookie or what have you but it will be few and far between, that's for sure.
Point, everyone slips but it's good you recognized it.
Good luck!
