One year ago......
One year ago tomorrow night, I was sitting with my husband (who's birthday happens to be the 7th) at my parents house chugging water and liquid laxative...miserable as hell! The next morning at 9am I walked into the hospital for surgery, scared out of my mind.
I can't believe it's been a year...I know I say that about a lot of things but man alive, it's gone so fast and so much has changed. I never would believe I'd be where I am at now and how much I have accomplished just this year. It makes me so excited for the future and how much more I'm going to experience. For those reading this who are thinking about or just beginning the surgery process and wondering if it's all worth it, my decision to have surgery was hands down, by far, the best decision I've ever made in my life and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. Yes, life does change but as far as I'm concerned it's only for the better.
Thanks to everyone for all the support you've given me in this time. I really enjoy hearing everyone's accomplishments or just answering questions. I really don't have anyone around me that is going through what I am, so I really feel connected to all of you in a very special way...so thank you for being here for me when I've needed it. I am already experiencing new challenges with my RNY like that ability to eat more, which is scary but it's nice to know I have a place to turn when it gets tough.
