Liquid Diet is kicking my butt...
So I had to start my liquid diet on Thanksgiving and I have never missed food so much. I literally wanted to cry cause I couldn't eat. On Day 3 I even had a dream about some nachos that I had eaten not to long ago. They were so tasty in my dream, lol. Today hasn't been so bad, I'm starting to realize that I'm not physically hungry but my brain is just use to me always snacking so its trying to trick me. I only have a few more days and I know this is just a test of whats to come but I never realized how hard it would be for me.
Loving my new life and all the wonderful things that go with it, on to my next journey! 99 pounds down and about 10 more to go but it has been a heck of a ride...
i had food dreams too! haha i was eating chips or something and my boyfriend caught me in the dream. uh ohs! haha
you can do it!! nothings going to taste as sweet as the result of your surgery!

I would never had the willpower to start the liquid diet on Thanksgiving so kudos on that. I didn't do so well on my liquid diet I hella cheated. I still lost about 15 lbs though. My doc didn't seem too concerned about it he just told me to not eat any solid food the last 72 hours before the surgery or he would know by the size of my liver that I cheated.
I am in no way condoning cheating on the liquid diet...but it is hard to stick to I know that.

My surgeon made me do a 3 week liquid diet. The first three days I did cry myself to sleep. I even wanted to buy a pizza chew it up and spit it out. After day three I was alot better. It is all a battle with the head hunger!!
Good luck to you, you can do it!! If you can conquer the liquid diet you can definetly live the guidelines for post surgery!

OK.......Im glad Im not the only one that thought (and still thinks) about chewing up and spitting out.
Im on day 2 of post op lap band. My body has never made so much noise with all the gurglings. I dont know if I can do another week n a half of this - 10 days mayyybe. I was eating broths and shakes and crystal light. Today I added tomato soup - better than the broth just sliding straight through.
I definitely dont wanna start off cheating. Its a struggle to tell myself - out loud - no, when I want to add a cracker into my soup to get soggy n eat. We'll see what day 3 holds.

The liquid diet is my biggest fear the whole thing. I mean come on your still have a fully functioning stomach that is HUNGRY! I'm not sure when my liquid diet is yet I still have to do my pysch eval the 16th and 2 more weeks of education (for a total of 6 weeks) i'm hoping i'll be scheduled late jan to feb sometime. I'll know more in a couple weeks once i'm done with my classes and the nurse will review my chart.
