They didn't operate on my taste buds...
So why does nothing taste the same? It seems like everything I eat has lost it's flavor. Everything tastes bland. Foods that were sooooo yummy to me before surgery don't have any effect on me at all now. I had a sip of coke yesterday ( my before surgery crack) and it was like drinking club soda...all carbonation no syruppy flavor. I know this has to have happened to someone else.
That happens. For me, I've lost all desire for things that are sweet. I could honestly take or leave any sort of dessert. Salty foods on the other hand is a different story. I've slowly gotten back my taste for more food as time has gone on which is good, yet bad. I like enjoying the tastes again but I don't want to start getting cravings back.

This happened to be in both directions. Some things i craved before surgery- now completely turn me off. Fast fod in general makes me sick to my stomach... which is an AWESOME thing haha...However before surgery i had no interest in sweets.... NOW, however, its my biggest struggle since i dont dump. the body is a weird thing :)

I have had the same experience, things I once loved, repulse me and things I was never really fond of, I crave! I crave OJ, cranberry juice and zucchini all the time! Your bodyis just telling youwhat you need, not what you want. I am 6 mo post gastric bypass and I still want sweets occasionally (once every two weeks or so), so I give in a little and take a whole day to eat a sliver of a brownie, but it satisfies and I don't want it again for a long time. I don't like meat very much anymore, but I hear that is typical, too. I eaytnuts and cheese and no carbs because they make me sick. I don't eat anything I used to and I miss it sometimes, but I just got under 200 pounds, so it is totally worth it!
in time things will taste better.
to me i kinda appreciated this happening, it just helps you more towards the whole eating heathier post op not trying to challange your pouch sorta deal.
i still have no done soda or beer since surgery in march. i get scared its going to explode my pouch or something. haha
good luck!
