Holidays are approaching fast!!
So I was going through my calender today and marking out some appointments and it hit me!! Thanksgiving is next week!! WOW, where did the time go?? Since I am 6 months out this will be the first time that I'll be seeing some of my distant family members since I had my RNY. Some have only saw me at like 3 months out so I am pretty excited to see them and see their reactions!! However, I wish I could get like 5lbs off before then so that maybe my new jeans would fit a little better around the tummy!!
So, does anyone have any "tricks" or ideas that they use when they need to re-start their weight loss? I have heard of the 5 day pouch test but I am not sure exactly what is it people do.haha I had GB surgery 3 weeks ago and I've been slacking this past week and not working out, so starting today I am getting back to working out so hopefully that'll help me drop a few pounds!!
Enjoy the holidays everyone and don't let the food choices overwhelm you!!

Hold your head up high...because you have every right to.
I know how you feel! By the time Christmas gets here, I'll be more than 100 pounds down, so it should be fairly noticable to people who I haven't seen in months. I plan on finding the tightest pair of pants that will fit and not rip to wear to the Christmas Eve family events. lol
Whenever I have a day or two where anything goes for eating, I usually just go back to the basics to start losing again. I keep everything really simple and easy. High protein, low carb foods like meats, cheeses, low carb yogurt.
I plan on eating what I want on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and Day. It's the other days that'll be tough, if people have candy just sitting around!

I'm really happy that I haven't exactly craved any type of sweets since my surgery. I find myself craving like really good food, which isn't too bad!! I don't plan on depriving myself of anything that I want to try on the Thanksgiving, I'm just not going to allow myself to graze. <-- always a big problem for me and I'm sure many others!!

I'm going to go into the holidays armed with my digital food scale. I don't believe in deprivation and a time like Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays are not the time to start because if anyone is like me, I'll end up binging on food if I tell myself I can't have any. I'm going to try to be realistic and eat healthy like I always do but make room for those other foods that you only have once a year. This year I'm going to attempt a sugar free pecan pie and a sugar free sweet potato pie. A few small bites of each and I'm sure that will be enough.
I think what's going to be hardest for me to keep in check is the snacking. If I can stick to just eating at mealtime with one or two healthy snacks here and there, I'll be fine.
