About time to make my announcement

Soo....I had gastric bypass June 15th- Sunday will be 5 months and I am 10 weeks pregnant. I have lost 100 pounds...weighing in at 200 from 299!

I did not "mean" to get pregnant but I am so excited! My husband and I have been married since August 2007, trying from that very day until about a month before surgery. I went through fertility treatment from september of last year until January when we decided that I would go ahead with the surgery in hopes that would answer my baby prayers, and we were aware that we would need to wait 12-18 months before "trying" again.....well, 3 months after gastric bypass- 5 days after my 24th birthday, god blessed me with pregnancy...AND HERE I AM, pregnant on the pill! We are so so so happy! My surgeon wasn't even mad! He knew it was something I wanted and he/nutritionist/OB are all helping me to stay healthy during the pregnancy.

I have had a 2 ultrasounds- one at 5 weeks to confirm the pregnancy, and one at 7 weeks to check for heartbeat. I have another ultrasound on the 17th (Tuesday) which I will post the pictures of.

Just wanted to let everyone know I haven't disappeared- I am just over at the Pregnancy after WLS board!

Congrats thats wonderful news!  I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I have PCOS so I know all about being on fertility, etc. I am actually 1yr 8mo out from RNY and once I stopped taking fertility I started having my monthly on it's own which I usually had to take pregesterone to start it up. And just found out I ovulated on my own without the help of fertility yesterday. So exciting)

 I know I already told you once, but congratulations again!  My son is the greatest gift I've ever received and I don't even remember life before he came along.  You and your husband will do wonderful!   I'm hoping to have another baby in a few years but no immediate plans....I get baby fever all the time though, it's pretty pathetic!

I'm over at the Preg. board on and off a lot...  I've had both babies, post RNY to be exact.  As a matter of a fact, I had a situation very similar to your own.  I got pregnant at 7 mos post-WLS while on the Ortho-Evra patch.  My surgeon was very supportive and helpful, as well.  Congrats again, girl~ My name is Renae and I'm here if you ever need anything!

Awww!!! That is so awesome! Being able to give life is the most precious gift that God gave us women. My hubby and I have been trying since 2008 with no luck. I should be having my surgery early next year, and it will be hard to wait that year to get preg. Congrats to you and your husband on the new life you two created together....

CONGRATS pretty girl!!! that is amazing news and im so happy for you. Babies are SUCH an amazing gift :)
