Just wanted to say hello

Hey I am kind of new to this...my name is Jeanine. I live in Maine (which doesnt have any Docs that will do the DS). I am just starting my Journey to have WLS. I know that when I do have the surgery it will be RNY. I am in relatively good health besides being overweight. I love the way that everyone supports everyone else!
Its like being part of a Family!!

gir if u don`t want the rny. u go and have the DS. don`t have the RNY cuz is ur only option. i know that lots of people here go other places to have their surgeries cuz in their town doens`t do the surgery they want.
i actualy had my surgery in other country i live in mexico and i had my surgery in houston texas. i had rny and i couldn`t be happier!! if u do have the rny it would be a good chooise too. but if u feel u need a DS. have the DS.!

I WOULD GO WITH THE SURGERY THAT U FEEL IS RIGHT FOR YOU..DONT SETTLE FOR WHATEVER IS AVAILABLE BECAUSE THIS IS A LIFE ALTERING SURGERY AND IF U FEEL U WILL DO BETTER WITH THE DS..THAT KEEP LOOKING AND FIND A DOC WHO WILL PERFORM THE SURGERY....

Thank you all for your Kind words! I was always set on the RNY but heard there are less "dumping" symptoms with the DS...so thats why I started to research it...
