How long were you down

With the various surgeries how long did you have to refrain from sex. I am just starting to research all of the options and was curious how this affects that.

I was about 2 weeks out from LAP RNY when I had sex for the first time post-op. Just make sure you feel okay, take it slow, and stop if you need to.

 Honestly I don't remember, I would say probably 3 or so weeks.  I had laproscopic so the recovery time is much shorter than an open.   I had a c-section with my son and even though you are suppose to wait 6 weeks anyway after a baby, it was more like 8-10....though I didn't really want my husband to come near me anyway, lol.  The c-section (open surgery) really took me down for a long time, I don't know if I just didn't know what to expect but it really does take time to recover.  I am not the type of person to just sit around for hours at a time, so that was a really hard time for me.  If I have another baby via c-section one day I'm going to take advantage of that down time and the same can be said for an open bariatric surgery also, don't push yourself too hard and take as much time as  you need.  

Sorry I kind of rambled on, but your body will let you know what it's capable of when it's ready..just make sure to always be listening to it!

Thank you for the information. It helps. I saw articles saying the downtime wasn't more than a few weeks but I wasn't sure how true it was.

well it really depends on individual. personally it was about 10 days out lol
