Halloween Costume Woes

It's that wonderful time of year. Again. I love Halloween. For the parties, of course.

This year, however, I have a dilemma. I want to wear a cute/sexy costume. I can wear one now! I'm so excited.

However, I cannot justify spending a ton of money on a costume. I'm still not to the stage of spending more than 15 bucks on an item of regular clothing. And I don't have much in my closet that can be converted/reused.

Anyone got any ideas? Something cheap, yet alluring would be great!

I got a costume for $35.. it's a sexy one - for the first time in my life!!! :) You could go to the thrift store... get a sexy short dress and be anything from a cop to a nurse to a fight attendant or anything within your imagination if you accessorize it.

 Check the 2nd hand stores in your area, they usually  have used costumes for cheap and if you can't find an actual costume, you can probably find some regular clothing to turn into one.  

Good luck!!  I remember those days of dressing up..FUN times!   Now a days it's more of dressing my son up.  They have this adorable garden gnome costume at Wal-Mart but I too can't justify spending $17 on that for something that will be worn for a few hours.  We'll be creative!

Last year I did a catholic 'school girl'... I found a plaid skirt on clearance at Old Navy for $4... had a long sleeved white shirt... bought knee high socks at target for under $5 and borrowed my BFs tie and wore a pair of penny loafers I already had... put hair into pig tails and wore a candy necklace.
This year I am doing sexy librarian... doing the white shirt again, have a knee length black skirt.. panty hose/stockings with sexy shoes... only thing I need to buy is glasses and a glasses chain to hang them on... going to do my hair in a bun and carry around some books! 
Two years ago I did the 80s - got everything at Goodwill/Wal Mart and it was cheap... mind you the 80s may not be sexy to everybody but you can still get super cute and wear a short skirt! 
Most of the time its about accessories... you can do a sexy cop and buy a shirt/skirt at goodwill then get some felt to make the shirt look more coplike.. just use glue to attach then stuff. (I made the BF a LtDangle costume last year that way, found a picture online and just copied it)... buy a kids cop set at walmart for the handcuffs/badge and whatnot and you are all set... can do firegirl, princess, cowgirl etc. Dollar store is also usually a good spot to find stuff.
