birth control/period

anyone on birth control before and after WLS? i started my period a week after surgery and its 3 weeks early! 

I was.
Its normal post-op to have irregular periods for a while because of all the weight loss.
I was on depo and started spotting about 2 weeks after surgery... at about 4 months out is when everything got back to 'normal'.

 Yeah, I was on Femcon for like 2 years pre-surgery but within about a month post-op I realized it wasn't going to work anymore. First of all the taste was completely unbearable and secondly when I was having issues with Vitamins I would sometimes get sick and all the vitamins and my BC would come back up. As a result, I start spotting and starting my period at random times. About 6 weeks after surgery I switched to Depo (the shot) and I haven't had any spotting or a period since. Its awesome! Not gonna lie! LoL

Even on BC my periods were CRAZY for 4-6 months after surgery. It has something to fo with all of the stored hormomes your body is releasing as the fat loss increases. I'd say dont worry just kep using your bc like regular!

 It's hormones.  The same thing has happened to me with all three of my surgeries.

yes i was on birth controll up until 30 days of my sugery then they put me back on 2 weeks after my sugery this sometimes happens hormones ...

I was actually late. After surgery I was gonna wait for my period before I started BC again but it wouldn't come so I started anyway regardless.
