helllllo! it's been months since i've updated, and im pushing 4 months post op!! 70+ lbs down, size 16 jeans, size large shirts, 36C bra! i love it!

I'm having the same issues I'm sure most of you are having/have had, including protein intake, making the right food choices, etc. But overall, i feel really confident and am SO happy i decided to get this surgery. no regrets, each day it is getting easier!

HOWEVER....

my hair. yes, it is falling out. yes, i am eating enough protein, biotin, and silica complex to "help" it but i am not seeing any results. I am more concerned about the TEXTURE of my hair though...

I used to have the nicest hair imaginable... thick, blonde, healthy, managable. NOW.. it is like straw, very knotty, falling out, dull. Is there any kind of miracle pill/shampoo/conditioner/treatment I can use to restore the shine/body/health of my hair? I know the hormones is whats causing my hair to be a completely different texture now, but I just can't take it anymore and I'm barely in the stages of hair loss!

HELP!

my hair did the same thing.. im 11 months out, ive heard that some people finally get back to there OLD hair and some never get it back..

my hair isnt the same, but it has got a little fuller...... :/

there is a shampoo at vitiamin world that has protein in it.. that i use, not sure the name of it... but it seems to help and give it a lil extra shine!

I would check out Nioxin. I just bought the shampoo and conditioner to start using it now before I hit the hair falling out stage. It's supposed to make your hair feel and look thicker and promote new hair growth. Most salons sale it...I found it onsale at the hair place in Walmart.

I cheated and wore extensions the entire time (the luxury of being a hairdresser) But i also used Nioxin shampoo, Conditioner, and scalp treatment THE ENTIRE TIME plus i would use rusk THIKCKER to spray in for thickness and Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus for root lift. YOU CANNOT prevent the hair loss but you can deal with it! @2 years later my hair is returning to normal.

If you don't already, I would start taking Biotin.  I started taking it about 2 months out and it really helped me for the hair to stop falling out and regrowth.  Plus, it's been great for my skin and nails.  You can get it anywhere that sells vitamins - Target, Wal-Mart, etc.

i bought shampoo and conditioner from sallys beauty supply. its called nutriox. i have had very little hair loss. I went to a wls support group and was told about it. i bought it right before my surgery and have been using it since. I LOVE it. granted the smell of it isnt so great....it smells like a peppermint but it works for me! Good luck!
Because in the end it will all be worth it Brittany
