Wii Exercise Programs
Hello,
Last Christmas my husband and I received the Wii and Wii Fit from my mother as a gift and when I found out I was too heavy for the board (limit of 330), we have not used it too much. Now that 330 is closely coming into sight I am wondering what activities everyone likes on their Wii Fit, Wii Active, My Personal Trainer or any that I have not thought of. I would like to begin incorporating these into my excercise plan for colder weather.
Do you see results and does this count as exercise? I also have a home treadmill that is similar I will be able to use when I am a lower weight.
Please provide any feedback as I am considering asking for the new Wii Fit CD coming out in October and Wii Active for Christmas. I have My Personal trainer already.

I'd be interested to hear how people like Wii Fit. I am NOT an exercise person at all, so I'm thinking maybe this would be a good way for me to do it. I don't think I can really do the traditional gym exercising on a regular basis.
I'm getting very close to being under that 330 limit so I'm beginning to think about it!

My parent's bought me a Wii and Wii Fit about a year ago and I've used it a bunch. I asked my surgeon if it counted as exercise after surgery and she said yes. I will say that it was "hard" at first and the first time I used it for half an hour, I was sore for three days! But it is fun and entertaining. Oh, and it does this thing if you don't use it for a few days, it gets upset and berates you.
My exercise physiologist said that it depends on the activity for it to count as exercise. Exercise by her definition (now my definition) is that it keeps your heart in a constant work zone (125-164 target heart rate for me) and is a scheduled activity, not something you would do as part of your regular daily activity like house cleaning. We also got the wii and wii fit for Christmas - and I still haven't been able to use the wii fit. I've been right at or around 330 since we got it. Using it on carpet makes you weigh anywhere from 5-10 pounds heavier than you might on your scale in the bathroom. If you can use it on a hardwood floor or low level/tight carpet, it might be more accurate. I also weigh more at night than I do in the morning - so if I try to use it at night and I'm weighing 333 while on the carpet - then it wont let me use it.
My goal is that by the time I get down to 320 - I can use it regardless of what time of day it is or that we have ours on carpet. I don't like planning to use it for exercise and then have it randomly weigh me one pound too heavy to use it.
We did just get a new exercise bike to go with our elliptical and treadmill. The bike is a recumbent bike - Pro Form XP400 from sears. Its on sale this week for 299 (originally 399) - It's awesome! The seat is very wide and comfortable. It says it can handle up to 275 in pounds - but it can handle me at 330 without a problem. My husband is much taller than I am and we can both use it easily even with our different leg lengths. We bought the Jillian Michaels IFit workout cards. We haven't tried those yet, but once we get into it I'll keep you all posted on how it works out.
Good luck!

You know they have tricks to work for you so you can get on and not worry about breaking it. I looked it up on youtube. This guy had gastric bypass and wanted so bad to use the wii fit and guess what...he fix it to where he can and did use it. As soon as I can find the link I will send it to you. He used a huge sponge or something. Who knows...you may be able to use it sooner after all
