One approval down! One more to go!!
Yay! So I am so excited! I got a letter in the mail last Thursday and it said that I was not approved because the RNY was not covered under my insurance plan. I was so mad because I called my insurance company several times before I started this process just I could avoid any road blocks like this. So I called the insurance company the next day and once again I was told that my plan does cover the RNY and that there are no exclusions to my policy. So of course I called the surgeons office and told her about that and she said that she would have to call them back and get with me Monday (today) about the results. (Its sucked that I had to wait for a WHOLE weekend! I told you I am impatient) Anyway so she called me this morning and told me that I am approved for 100% of the surgery! 
The only thing I would have to pay for is the $100 admission fee into the hosital! So needless to say I am SOOOOO excited! Now I just have to finish my 6 month weight loss program with my PCP and I will have all of the requirements. Then we send everything for the second approval which will be when I actually get a date! But the surgeon's office said thats ok becuase since I got this approval I can start everything else that my surgeon requires for the surgery! So I am very happy! WOOOHOO!!!

Congratulations! I know how hard it is to wait for things. I'm a fan of instant gratification so having to wait for this surgery has taught me some things. Its great that your insurance will pay for 100%. I'm sure that makes your life easier, I know it makes mine easier.
I think the insurance companies send letters saying you aren't approved just to stop some people. I'm sure that they figure it will keep a few from asking a second time.
