Nervous!
Hi,congrats on getting your surgery date! I had the realize band so I dont known much about having a drain in from the surgery but I think Anne, a girl on here had that surgery so she could tell you more about it. I am almost 6 months post op and yes the extra skin does suck I would take it over weighing 298 any day of the week! I'm down to 206, and loving every minute of it. Good luck with your surgery!
Congrats on your date. Can't speak on the drain tube. I had an Open RNY and I was given a NG Tube so my tube was through my nose. Extra skin of course it stinks. But the good thing is we are still young so hit the gym and help your tool as much as you can. Congrats! Keep us posted on your journey!!
Currently --115lbs as of 11/18/2009!!
Pain wasn't a big problem for me. The worst pain I had was in my throat, but that was special cir****tances. They had trouble intubating me, ended up having to force a tube down, so for a few days my throat really hurt and I coughed up "stuff." But that's very unlikely to happen to you. As far as my stomach goes, I really didn't feel any pain except hunger pains the first night in the hospital. I was starving! They had me on drugs though so maybe that just got rid of all the pain the first night, I don't know.
I'm only two months out so I can't stay about skin, though I can pretty much guarantee I'll have loose skin due to the sheer amount I have to lose.
GOOD LUCK! You'll do great. The first month or so is rough with the healing diet phases, but once you get back to regular foods you'll feel great.
yay ur surgery is almost here, congrats!!!!!. i didn`t had a drain thanks god, but it think is good cuz the drain is gonna make the pain easier. and about the extra skin don`t you worry about that!!! thanks good for plastics! i have some pictures of my tummy and arms in my page if u wanna look.
