Icky Protein Shakes
Okay so as I am typing I am drinking an "iMetabolic Protein Shake" (Chocolate Decadence) It is not tasty at all...It kinda has a sour taste to it. For my pre-op diet...I have to replace one meal a day with this shake for one week...then replace two meals a day for one week...then I am supposed to drink this crap for two weeks straight??? Does anyone out there know of a GOOD tasting meal replacement protein shake????????
Right after surgery I used Unjury chocolate to order go to www.unjury.com
Now I like the BSN Lean Dessert Protein powders vanilla and banana nut bread flavors are my favorite. I order them online for around $14 a canister, where at GNC they are around $24. The good thing about GNC though is if you buy something and hate it you can take it back and exchange it for something else.
Good luck. I have learned what some people love protein shake wise I hate and vice versa. I like my protein shakes made with skim milk and 3-4 ice cubes, my husband hates them with ice and he puts 1 T. of peanut butter in his chocolate shakes. It all just depends on your taste.

I have to do protein shakes from now until my surgery on the 30th . For now I just use carnation instant breakfast I make them with double milk( skim and i mix in powdered milk ) It works for now.

yuck all the stuff that is low cal tast nasty! I agree. 8 months post op and I finally try "Muscle milk" and I can drink almost the whole thing. almost.
its def a meal replacement tho because it has tons of calories so dont drink it and try to eat. that is how you could gain weight.
but the chocolate is decent tasting.
also if you in the mood to part with your money "matrix" is the only other drink I can manage to swallow, the chocolate and vanila, but you can only buy it online and its expensive.
Its expensive because it taste good and they know that.
are you mixing with milk or water? I get the premixed muscle milk and it taste smooth, much better then when I make it myself....
