so, I just had RNY surgery on Monday... and everytime i take a sip of water and now my protein shake, i feel it gurgling or bubbling the entire way down.   Is this normal and if so when will it go away!!??!?!??!  This crazy uncomfortable feeling is making it hard for me to get liquids in. Although I am not hungry I know i need to drink!  And as far as gas, when will that start to subside?

The same exact thing happen to me, it's normal, and very annoying. It actually made it hard to sleep because I could feel my insides gurgling.

Keep in mind that you just re-routed your insides and they aren't really sure what's going on! It will go away, mine was gone by week 2 or 3. The gas, I'm afraid, never completely went away from me. I burb way more now than I did before.

Good luck!

I still have gargling now when I eat first thing in the morning.  It's normal, don't worry!

my dr told me to take zantac 150 to keep the gurgling at bay. he said the gurgling can last up to a year post op. if it bothers you terribly talk to your dr about it. i have had no problems with it.
the gas however... lol

The first day after surgery I had no gas. Then the few days after that I had episodes of burping many times in a row. I would tilt my head back to make it easier for the air to escape. It was kinda funny. I don't think I tried drinking when that was happening though.
