Staying motivated
How do you guys stay motivated to work out? I have been slacking lately and I really thought I wouldn't feel this way. I am about 3 1/2 months out and want to maximize these first few months so that I get results but somedays I just dont want to workout.
Any tips or suggestions to keep my butt in gear??

This is really cheesy but it works for me. I think of working out like going to my job...if I didn't go, I'd get in trouble, demoted and probably fired. I want to do well, so I look at it as a non-negotiable just like brushing my teeth. Do something you enjoy, it doesn't have to be a chore. A lot of girls on here like the dancing workout DVD's.
Here's another reason and this comes straight out of the mouth of my surgeon. With this surgery we are suppose to lose anywhere from 60-80% of our excess body weight. I've lost 100%...why? Because of how often and hard I exercise (along with food choices, of course) but it really does make a difference. It's done wonders for my excess skin also.
It's sort of a paradox but if you think you don't have enough energy to work out, just do it because you'll have a ton after you finish.

my motivation is that i don't wanna gain the weight back! and believe me it can happen really fast!. so this is your chance to make it a habit , a routine before your honey moon is over.
and as emily said is not negociable now is like a job! is something that i plan my days around. i go crazy if i skip gym a day. and now i stay motivated cuz i wanna get my plastics this december and i wanna lose afew more lbs and tone a lil more my body.

Just based on what I've seen, my excess skin really isn't that bad. I have it mostly on my arms, inner thighs and stomach (I did have a baby and c-section though). It's been discussed on the board several times and there's just no way of knowing how much or little it will be a problem, it just depends on the person and how your body reacts to the weight loss. Working out definately can't hurt and it will help versus doing nothing at all but it probably won't get the skin super tight...only plastic surgery can do that. But for those that surgery is not an option, working out is the best way to go.

if you have cable on demand exercise tv is so wonderful!! sometimes when i dont feel like going back out after work, i pop that on and its so great!!
theres a few walking ones with a lady named leslie sansone (they sell these @walmart too) and you can do a 1, 2, or 3 mile cardio walk with her. i did the 2 mile this morning and it was only 30 minutes and i felt great aftewards!
for motivation i just think what it would be like if i never got the surgery. i think back to my old body, my old mentality on everything. i think about this great tool i was blessed with, and how i need to rock it HARD!

I'm not a good role model because I don't work out, really. I walk though ( a lot- almost every night). I'm waiting a bit before I get down smaller bc working out hurts my knees (or used to anyway). I plan on starting to go within the next month or so, probably.
