Hey how are you? I haven't had surgery yet but I thin you should follow the guidelines and was that all sounds so delicious. lol I'm sorry. I mean mayeb you should talk to the Counsler or go to group or talk to your Dr. Sorry I couldn't really help.

Its not that I just want to make sure that im not the only one who can eat a bit more... When I see the Dr. of course I will mention it to him but I come on here for advice from others in the same situation...

HEY GIRL....

IT SOUNDS LIKE UR DOING GREAT...

WHEN I SAW MY NUT..SHE MENTION TO ME THAT U CAN EAT UNTILL U ARE FULL..
SO IF UR EATING A CUP OF FOOD IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKR UR DOING GREAT...

ALTHO IM STILL PRE OP I HAVE SEEN POST WHERE PEOPLE EAT A BIT MORE, AND ITS COMPLETLY NORMAL..U WILL FIND UR "HAPPY MEDIUM"..

BUT THIS EARLY OUT ITS GREAT THAT UR ABLE TO EAT A CUP OF FOOD, AND THAN BE FULL..

IF U WERE EATING TOO MUCH UR BODY WILL LET U KNO...( IT WILL COME BACK UP)

SO IMO, UR DOING GREAT!!! IT SOUNDS LIKE U DONT HAVE A PICKY POUCH, AND AS LONG AS U KEEP UR POUCH HAPPY, AND U GET IN ALL UR NUTIENTS...ULL BE JUST FINE...

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND KEEP US POSTED...

Ok, you can eat the pudding, cheese stick and chili but not all at the same time, right??  I think I'm understanding that correctly.   If you could eat all of that together, then I'd be concerned.  But, you sound like you are doing just fine.  My nutritionists are big on telling people how many ounces to eat. In the beginning it was 1 oz meals 3x a day until 8 weeks, then we move up to 3oz.  For me and following that regimen, a digital food scale was my best friend.

At where I'm at right now, I can definitely eat more than I could but I just go until I'm satisfied.  In reality, I'm not eating all that much but since I've been eating tiny portions for the greater part of a year it seems like a ton more than I'm use to.   Food journals will help too with that.

If you still feel like it's an issue, call your surgeon or nut. just to make sure.

Good luck!

Emily

Hey there,  You are doing great!  From what Ive been reading, the exit opening of a rny pouch is about the size of a ladies index finger.  Naturally, liquids are going to slip through faster than a more dense food would.  I get waaaay more full eating 2 ounces of chicken versus a cup and a half of diced watermelon.  Im 2 months out and sometimes worry about stretching my pouch.  The best advice that I have gotten from my support forum is to look at what you are eating, its density and consistancy.  I have also started logging everything that I eat on a website that shows your daily fat/calorie and protein intake.  It really makes you evaluate what you are eating and helps plan everything out.  Keep up the great work!

I totally hear you!  I had surgery on 8/3 and feel like I can eat a lot more than I should be able to.  For example, I can eat an entire piece of toast with peanut butter on it!!  It takes me about 20 minutes or so but I can definitely do it!  As far as drinking is concerned, I almost feel like I can drink normally.  I can drink a 16 oz glass of s/f kool-aid in 30 minutes.  There were 3 days that my guts were pretty intolerant and I couldn't eat much without it immediately coming out (sorry if TMI but I wasn't vomiting if you know what I mean).  I've eaten sushi with no rice and could eat quite a bit. Comparitively i'm absolutely eating way, way less than before and I'm definitely losing weight so I guess it's alright but I worry that my pouch might be enormous!!

I kind of just ranted about myself and didn't give you any advice but I'm feeling the same way you do!!!
