Hi I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Northwestern Ontario, just turned 25 in April and was approved last week for surgery in Duluth! I am REALLY happy that this forum exists because my mom had WLS 2 years ago but I feel like being younger my experience will be totally different. Plus I'm not completely sure that my friends really understand what a big change this will be. Did anyone else have that sort of feeling?

I'm also really tall 6'1/2. So if there are any other tall girls out there please let me know how things are going with you - where do you buy pants!?! haha.

I have a really tall friend and she buys her pants at Maurices. Might be worth a try?

Good luck with your upcoming surgery!!

hey girl, wellcome to the board!!!!!!
and congrats on ur surgery.
and yes sometimes is hard to people to understan why ur having wls at such a young age. but in the way i see it. i rather to live my 20's 30's and 40's and years to come healthy and happy than start to live at my 50's lol and that's how i feel after having the surgery. And really what pepole thinks should be the last thing to worry about.
hugs and good luck in ur journey

Hey! Welcome to the board! I would say I'm tall, but I'm no where near as tall as you! I'm 5'11" One thing I think that comes with being tall is we don't lose clothing sizes as easily :-( A little bit more weight has to come off before it proportionately turns into a lower clothing size. Which surgery are you planning on having? I don't know about the shopping thing yet, I had a bunch of old jeans so I'm trying to wear what I have as long as possible before buying clothes so I can save money.

I'm going to be having RNY. and I'm with you on wearing my old cloths as long as possible to save money. Plus sized clothes are SO expensive, especially in Canada, so I really want to get all I can out of them!
