Heyyy guyss

I've been snooping around here and trying to do a good job with my wonderful tool, so I thought I'd update.  I went for my one month post op visit on Thursday, and I've lost 33 pounds in the last 6 weeks (including the 2 weeks pre-op).  I asked Dr. Scott if I was losing too slow and he gave me a mini-lecture on how that was perfectly normal, that most people lost between 20 and 30 pounds in the first month, and that he thought I was doing great.. so, that made me feel better!

I have learned the hard way that I MUST eat slowly and chew well!  I have such a hard time with that, but it instantly bites me in the butt.  Also, I've been able to move on to semi-solid foods now, but I absolutely can't eat bread.  Toasted I can do alright with, but just normal bread makes me waaayyy sick.  Anyone else experience that?  What kind of stuff did you guys eat at this stage?

congrats. We had surgery the same day. Glad to hear you are doing so well. My 6 week appt with my nutritionist is in another week or so. So far Ive lost 29 pounds as of today. I also thought I was losing slow but when I emailed my nutritionist she also told me between 20-35 lbs is good. So girl we are right on track. I have been eating solid foods for a while now. The same goes for me with the bread though. Toasted I do better but even then it sits so heavy on my stomach. I love triscuit thins which are the only carbs other than veggies that I am pretty much having. They sit light and taste great. I have them with some hummus which I love. I love the canned fuit in splenda with some cottage cheese. Oatmeal also sits well in my tummy. umm lets see.... pretty much anything just no rice, pasta, bread, or raw fruits or veggies yet. other than that anything else. I am glad you are doing well keep me posted. We can compare our progress and keep each other motivated. Good luck hun.............
My big day is july 6th, 2009, finally!!!

hey nikki.

Your doing great! rember everyone loses at their own way. i know i sooooooooooo hard, but try to not compare ursefl with othere people ur one and only lol.
i know a lot of people had issues with bread. all my friends an relatives were like, don´t eat bread is gonna get stuck bla blabal, and for me bread is one of the most easy things to eat!!!. weird i know! that's why u cannot compare urself with otheres, we all are very difents.
but i cannot do rice and chicken dunno why it just to heavy at my pouch bu i can eat chicken and rice apart and i´m good , thats thinks ur gonna learn along ur journey.
i don´t wanna sound mean saying this but i hope u cannot be able to eat bread againa and some of the most delicous food either lol.... thats what i would wish for myself lol. hahah that woulda being so helpful hahhaa

Y'all are too sweet.. Mariana, I definitely agree, I hope I will never be able to eat bread again and I hope I forget how it tastes and never WANT to eat it again!  That goes for all carbs, really...

Giordanna, that's so awesome, I'm so glad you're doing well!  Yay surgery buddies! You're way right, crackers I have found to be great, but even toasted bread just sits there and I'm like ugghhh get out of my stomach. Have you had any kind of like pita chips or anything? I'm not supposed to have anything crunchy until the next stage, but I've found that if I chew them up really well, they go down better than any other carb (including mashed potatoes) especially with hummus and black bean salsa. I can't bring myself to eat cottage cheese, girl.. it's just not good to me! I can't believe you're in GA too! I'm way up here in Hicksville, USA.
