and its really not a big deal but it did make me sad and i figured i would tell the story...its not like i expect anything but we tell happy things here all the time so why not tell the sad stuff too...well i was at my surgeons office for a post op appointment from my gallbladder removal...and as i was leaving i noticed a sign for post op nutritional seminar to get back on track or make sure you doing the right things as far as nutrition goes after surgery so i asked if i could sign up and the lady looks at me and goes really rudely uh well you have to have had surgery already...and i could feel my face get red cause i was embarrassed kind of...and i go i did i had it in december...and she goes well just call that number then...i felt just treated poorly and maybe i took it to personally and i just have to remember the big picture i am 160lbs lighter...i fit more normal into society but OH WELL this **** happens sometimes

Seriously???  You were treated poorly, she should not have assumed anything.

You look great Amanda, if you are not already there you have to be damn close to closing in on no longer eligible to meet the BMI requirements for surgery so she is an idiot.

Sometimes Dr office staff have no clue what they are saying and have no manners whatsoever.

Tell your doctor. She's probably like that to everyone. If he's smart at all, he'd have her fired. With things the way they are, there are thousand people who would take that job in a second and do it right.

GIRL...I WOULD BE POSTING THIS UNDER WOW MOMENT...

REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE " BIG" AND HOW YOU WERE TREATED DIFFERENTLY?????

WELL I KNO I DO..I GET THE LOOKS AND THE ASSUMTIONS ALL THE TIME...

AND I CAN GIVE ANYTHING TO BE TREATED LIKE A 'NORMAL' PERSON...

SO FOR HER TO BE LIKE " WELL U NEED TO HAVE HAD SURGERY" IS AN AWSOME WOW MOMENT..I MEAN THERE NO EXCUSE FOR HER RUDENESS..BUT YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY YOU DONT LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE HAD A WLS...AND YOUR AT A "NORMAL"SIZE.....

I THINK THATS AWSOME.....=)...IF IT MAKES ANY SENSE...LOL

I am sure she meant nothing by it, she probably gets asked that stuff all week long and has a set dialogue of answers.

When I started out to get WLS, the first meeting was informational and the doc went through each person in the group to ask what type of surgery they were having.  My husband has a clearly athletic build and the doc skipped him.  But he did ask a woman
(who was supporting her husband) who could not have been more than 45 lbs overweight. She was mortified, but I honeslty do not think the surgeon was really thinking about it when he asked.

You have come so far!!

The people at that office are ******g *****es. It's a freaking meat factory. You look amazing and I want to hang out and wrap my arms around your skinny ass. Let's go kick each others' asses at the gym and then drink tons of coffee and trade clothes and talk about boys.

I love you!! I miss you!!! Call a *****!
