Panni Question

So I know loose skin is going to be an issue and I am not stressing too much about it. I am curious about anyone in their 20s who had a BMI over 50 and their panni experiences? Is your Panni manageable or does it look like these awful pictures you can find online hanging down to your thighs? I am scared of it getting to be that bad with ulcers and sores so I thought maybe since we are young it might not be as bad as that....even though I understand there will be some overhang. Let me know your experiences.

Thanks

I'm not going to lie, my panni is pretty bad. All i can say is thank god for Spanx!!  There are some days that i get really depressed about how bad my mid-section is, but i'll take the extra skin over it being full of fat. Even though im only 20, i think that it was inevitable that i was going to have a panni and extra skin since i was so overweight. I'm so much healthier than i was before and i know that in the future i'll have plastic surgery to remove all the extra skin. I hope that helps!!

i think that extra skin is not something to worry about. is fixable! and is way better than bein fat and unhealthy.  i say YAY!!! for lose skin it means that u lost lots of weight and thanks God for plastics!!!
mine is not bad at all ils like i had babies lol.just look like celulitis and the plastic surgeron said that is only  2 inch that he has to cut off so is not that bad. altho i want him to take out more than that lol. but he told me that maybe he wants to wait till i have babies to to the full tummytuck but i don´t think i wanna wait lol.
ps. my arms are really bad tho.
good luck!!

It really all depends on how big your tummy was to start.

I started at 336 with a pannis that was already pretty big, so as I've dropped weight it's simply gotten more saggy...though I'm happy it's not all full of fat anymore. I still have a long way to go and then I'll see where I'm at after my weight stabalizes.

We never know how our skin is going to react to dramatic weight loss. For some, it shrinks up pretty well, for others....yeah, not so much. The general rule is you wait one year after your weight stabalizes to see what you need to have fixed in terms of plastic surgery.

Things might be gross and saggy for a while, but at least we have options to fix it!

I did not have a BMI over 50 but if you look at my pre-op pictures I carried a lot of my weight in my belly... my panni is still pretty big... I wear a size 8 and if it was cut off I swear I could be a 4... I dont have ANY issues with ulcers, sores or rashes... worse I have it will flop up and down but its all about the right undergarments. You cannot really see it when I wear clothes I just know its there.
My friend who weighed almost 400lbs when she had surgery carried her weight all over... her arms and legs were much bigger than mine but her belly smaller.... hers panni was very small.. just some loose skin and a little fat.. all depends on your shape!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
