What am I doing wrong?

I'm starting to feel a little down. My surgery was on March 2 and I'm about 4.5 months out. I am now down 61 pounds. Even though I'm feeling really good, I feel like I should have lost more. I spoke to my surgeon and he said I needed to up my calories from 800 to about 1200 a day while I'm working out. I did that and I am taking in more water and still it's going very slow. The first few days of that I dropped a few pounds right away, and then it stopped. I feel like I'm never going to reach my goal weight and I'm going to be stuck here forever. Any advice/suggestions?

Girl that is not slow. If you continued at that pace you would loose 163lbs in a year. That would be awesome. Plus depending on your surgery you have 12-18 months of weight loss.

okay so when is the last time you lost 61 lbs in 4.5 months?  You are doing great, don't be discouraged and keep doing what your dr tells you and it will come off!

Hey babe, this is not a race.  Your weightloss journey is your own.  Don't get caught up in comparing yourself to others.  Or wanting to lose as fast as "so and so."  And rememeber, When you lose super rapidly your skin can not keep up.  That leads to hanging skin problems.

You are doing AWESOME!  Don't beat yourself up when you should be patting yourself on the back

I felt the same way at the same time. Just know your not alone and there are many of us that were walking in your shoes a few months ago. I thought if I lost 20 lbs i would be able to exercize without getting tired. try 100 lbs! I underestimated how big i was and just wanted to get down to a large size without being an extra large.

You will reach your goal weight unless your being unrealistic.
your weight will stall for a few weeks at some point and it will burn you when you step on the scale
you wont get stuck forever!

I know because after a stall at about 3ish months im not stalled anymore and met my goal 6 months early.
YOU CAN DO IT

We actually talked about this in my support group on monday.  You have to look at the big picture of things and not have unrealistic goals.  If you do, you'll be nothing but unhappy always comparing yourself to others and obsessing about a number on the scale.  Look at all the things  you can do now because of your 61lb loss that you could do before.  Do you feel better?  We all get discouraged from time to time but the day is going to come when we won't be losing weight anymore and we are just going to have to be happy with ourselves the way we are.  Don't get stuck in one mind set while the rest of the world moves forward, you have to do the same!

Good luck!

Thank you everyone. I appreciate all the support and great comments. I know that you are all right. It's just hard sometimes. Especially when you want something so bad. I appreciate all of your feedback and support! I'm not sure what I would do without you guys!
