Am I the only one?

Alright, this is a question for the ladies, but guys, I'd appreciate feedback as well. I have lost 100 pounds since surgery, and feel fantastic. I still struggle when buying new clothes, though. I think I am having trouble with being somewhat of a "thin girl."  In my mind, there are things that thin girls wear or are interested in, and while I might have had the same interest, I didn't express it or wear it because I was overweight. (Such as wearing certain labels).  Has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks!

Hi.. I'm still pre-op -but wanted to tell you to stop worrying about it... ROCK YOUR new size girl.  Try on everything.  Make a day of it!  I'm sure you got this surgery PARTIALLY so you can look good as well.  Accept the fact that you ARE a thin girl now...look the part.  Act the part.  Be thin!

I hear ya! Shopping for me has turned into an excruciating, almost panic inducing experience. I have no eye for sizing anymore. I simply have no clue which size to grab, what will remotely fit me, or how I'm going to "see" myself in a certain article of clothing. I'll give you a few tips on how I shop now.

1. Grab a small size. Even if I don't think I will ever fit into it, I force myself to grab it off the rack. And guess what? I usually fit into it, or have to go find a smaller size.

2. Take risks. Even if I think I don't have the "body" to wear something, I try it on. It's very intimidating, but I still do it. Surprisingly, I now have two gorgeous dresses that I never would have considered wearing in my "previous" life. And I look great in them. Besides, it's just you in the fitting rooms. Who cares?

3. Grab 2-3 different sizes of something you like. Go try them. You'll be surprised. Pleasantly surprised.

4. TRY EVERYTHING ON!!!! Don't just assume it will fit, or you'll end up like me, returning items that are too large.

Although I am much thinner now, I still have curves. Some things just won't fit right, and that's okay. Even people who have been thin their whole lives have these issues. Make sure you're comfortable with what you buy, but have some fun!!!
