5 month update with pics . .

First, I just want to say that I never in a million years thought I'd be writing this so soon. I never thought I'd be so close to goal and able to write a list of how this surgery has already changed my life. Its the most amazing gift and I am so thankful !! I didnt even think I had any " before " pics, cuz I used to hide from the camera so much, but I got this from someone who had happened to take my picture when I was getting tattooed one day last summer ( a year ago exactly, actually ), which is why my nose is scrunched up ( from the pain i had that moment. lol ) but it gives you a good idea of how much my weight has changed. I showed my kids tonight and they gasped - literally..  My youngest daughter said " whoa. that doesnt even look like you mommy" .. hahaha  . Its an awful picture. I am embarrased, but wanted to show people what a difference 5 months can make !!

anyways.. here is me before , very unhappy and a size 18.  **I am barely 5 feet tall **

 

and me now, almost 100 pounds lighter, wearing a jr. size 5 that is getting loose actually..

 

 

 I cant say enough good things about my RNY. I am no longer diabetic, no longer have acid reflux. My feet, ankles and knees dont hurt anymore. I can run around with my kids all day long and not be winded in the least. I have more energy than them these days :) I have my life back and Im really thankful. Thank you to the board here for helping me with my million questions over the past 6 months. :)

YOW...Your one hot mama I would have to agree. I know you must feel thousand times better! I know I would. Keep up the hard work. Have you worked out any? I am almost 1 month and can't wait to work out! I hope I look that smokin! Hehe...great job.

yes i do work out . I do the treadmill a min. of 4 x a week, 4 miles at a time. I usually " fast walk" half and then jog the other half. I also do 5 pound hand weight workouts for my arms, trying to avoid getting the " bat wings" . It worked for me =]

I am SO glad you posted your before pic, you wear your new weight so well and effortlessly.
You, Jessica Jean and JeniOnFire are my little pinup girls!
And your comments and blog entries are very inspiring, especially for the newly post-op like me.

On a different note, one thing that has somewhat bothered me in the deep scary annals of my head is that once I get normal-sized, I'll lose my sense of style. Kind of a weird irrational fear, I know, but what's weird is sometimes I think that I'll get to a normal size and just want EVERYTHING I can put on, instead of being more selective. lol. You do so well in still representing yourself and your style and your loves.
OK, I know that was an odd tangent, but still. lol.
