Any 20 something Revisions?

I originally had my RNY at 22 in 2003. Now I am 28 and waiting on insurance for revision approval

to what and why?

Revision RNY because I have gained the majority of weight back

Have you considered revising to a DS?  The numbers on it are better than RNY.

I highly recommend you check out the DS board.  We have lots of revisions there from failed RNYs and Lap Bands.  The DS is a great option for people who have already tried one kind of WLS and it didn't work for them.

And don't believe all the rumors floating around out there about all the horrible bathroom issues with the DS.  It's seriously a myth!  We can answer any questions you have on the DS board.  Come check us out.

Wow I don't think I've ever heard of Revision RNY.

I had my original RNY in 03 and after 3 kids I put 50 lbs. back on. So I just had revisional surgery on June 19th. Basically it was a ERNY. Down 25 lbs so far and it's still coming off.

Thanks all! I have considered DS but really trust my surgeon and he doesnt perform DS.

I hear ya about the surgeon thing- I was really into the VSG but my surgeon didn't do it so I had a lap-band instead. well, turns out he does do VSG's it just has to be an "extenuating cir****tance" which I managed to qualify for when I got a serious erosion from the band. now I have a sleeve... it's working okay, I guess. I do kind of wish I'd just done rny and been done with it, cause Ive only lost 10 lbs in 4 months. If I have to revise again Im pretty sure my options will be rather limited, but we'll see.  good luck on your revision
