First off, Congrats on your surgery! I thought you were still going through the pre-op phase, so YAY!!
Everyone is different and how they tolerate the liquids. It's a good thing you are getting in your protein and fluids. Wouldn't want you to get dehydrated. I could get in all my fluids but it did take a long time. I think it was just because I was afraid to drink too much at one time because of everything I read pre-op. To this day, (6months out) I don't really get that "full" feeling. The feeling of tightness right below your breast bone. I only know this because again of what I've read. Sometimes I wonder myself if maybe my pouch wasn't made small enough. Or they didn't bypass enough. Even with this thought, I've lost over 90lbs and I know this wasn't done on my own.
Just stick to your doctors plan, measure and weigh your foods. Also, each doctor has their own plan. Some have you on liquids, others start you right off on soft/pureed. You may feel different once you start solid foods. Again, I never felt tightness or weirdness of food going down in any phase and still til today. I never dumped but I never tested my sugar intake either. You hear of so many different things. Some people are sensitive to sugar, oils, fat, or carbs. Some people like me and maybe you, may not have all that BUT, we are still able to use this tool to our benefit and lose weight. I too never eat slowly. I don't see how people could eat 2-3oz in 20-30minutes when that is so little. I just make sure to eat small bites. I've told this to my Nutritionist but she said as long as I'm eating the right quantity, I'll be ok. You'll figure it out as you go. It's not easy but you will.
Congrats!!!!!!

I felt the same. When I started more solid foods like chicken I started feeling fuller. The liquids and puree's go right through your pouch and don't hang around like solid foods do. In 20min I can eat a full serving of cottage cheese. try eating with baby spoons it will slow you down. Be aware of your carb intake though. I plateaued early and I think it was because I was eating high carbs and protein drinks.
