I'm exhausted and I need some help!
OK so I'm trying to get in as much protein as I can but it's hard and I'm having trouble finding protein sources that I enjoy. So far the Carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) is the best thing I can find, but after mixing it with the milk it's still only 12 grams of protein, yet has 20 carbs! I've tried the unjury stuff and I hated it! I tried some vanilla whey protein powder...yuck! I need some advice on more healthy protein sources. I'm tired almost all the time and I think it may be partly because I'm not getting enough protein so I'm starting to write down everything I eat with the amount of protein in it so that I have a better idea of how much I'm consuming. Any other ideas would be much appreciated!
u honestly dont need to worry about the carbs at this stage in the game...try adding a flavorless protein powder to the carnation instant breakfast!! that might help get you to numbers....
but really your eating so little at this stage that the carb numbers dont really matter all that much!!
=) good luck hun!!

I like BioChems 100$ Whey Protien, Designer Whey and if you are familiar with Smoothie King their Gladiator protein. Isopure makes protein 'shots' and drinks.. you can order 'shots' online from other makers that are pretty easy to take.
I tried about 20 brands before I found one I liked... see where sells samples, Wal Mart now has a good selection and GNC will let you return open items. You can also order some online.

I really like Muscle Milk Light Chocolate Milk flavored. You can order it online or get it at GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe. The first week after my surgery while we were still in Houston (we live in Dallas), my mom would blend me up a muscle milk light chocolate milk protein shake. I just celebrated a year post-op and I still enjoy having them once or twice a week. I just throw in a blender: one and a half cups of fat-free milk, about a half a cup to a full cup of ice, 2 scoops of the protein powder, one egg and half a banana. It's simply delicious! Also, Jennifer mentioned the Isopure. I lived on the Isopure RTD for the first 7 to 8 months after my surgery. They are a little pricey but have 40 grams of protein in one bottle, so I would drink half a one a day. They come in fun flavors like orange and alpine punch and green apple. Hope this helps!
The BEST! protien powder in my opinion is Syntha6 Cookies and cream. It is the only vanilla base shake I can stand. It tastes kinda like a melted Cookies and Cream ice cream. I mix it kinda thick-blend with ice and vanilla silk soy milk. It's really good. I also sometimes put in a packet of that diet hot ****o mix that has like 25 cals for a choc. flavor. I also like the Nectur peach fuzzy navel and lemon ice tea flovors they are less calories than CC Syntha6 but not as tasty. You might also ask your doc for a monthly B-12 shot that has helped my energy lots! Good luck!
