Okay so Wed was the mark of 2 weeks Post Op...I have started feeling depressed and frustrated easily. I want to eat something so bad, I even have dreams of eating and tasting all those yummy things!! I assure my husband it's alright to eat what he needs to and I don't expect him to do otherwise....but I am having SUCH a hard time no chomping into it myself.  Anyone had this issue??

Also,  I have no freakin idea what to eat. Like I said I am 2 weeks out wed will be 3 weeks and I have NOOOOOO CLUE, can someone please give me ideas on what they "ate" it would help me so much. Thank you all!

BOBBYE

I don't follow the rules really well....  I felt just like you. I am a little over 3 weeks out and in addition to feeling tired and deprived I was also depressed and slightly crazy. I cried at my post op visit and the Dr. office called me the next day because I was so nuts. Anyway... I made a delicious enchilada soup which was probably too spicy but delicious. I use the crock pot to cook chicken because it makes chicken brests juicy. I like scrambled eggs and Finish rice puding which is delicious! If you are interested I will send the recipies. I like cream of wheat too. Sweatened with splenda and just a bit of brown sugar. Pre-cooked and seasoned chicken from Costco was also delicious. I am still a little crazy. I hop I have y period soon so I can get over this ****ty mood.

Hey, so I definitely understand how you're feeling. But I'm curious did you have your surgery on 6/30/09? Cause that's the same day I had mine and I'm only 1 week out? Which means I'm not allowed to eat anything yet. Are you allowed to be eating yet? I know it seems like the last week has been dragging, but I just would hate for you to rush something your body isn't ready for.

yes i did have my surgery on the 30th of June, I am almost 2 full weeks out. I got home 4th of July and so today makes a week I have been home. My Dr. told me that I can do full liquids now. When i say "eat" I mean drink the food. I just use to word eat to show the difference in drinking water and drinking food. You know. Anyways congrats on your surgery!

honey i totally feel your pain!! i literally did =)
I actually had dreams of dancing food ...like with arms and legs and everything, little dancing burgers and pizza and hot dogs haha...i can laugh about it now BUT believe me it was torture for about the first 2-3 weeks. I cant say that i ever really felt "hungry" but i did feel like i was missing something! I realized in those first 3 weeks just how bad my relationship with food actually was....i was literally mourning the loss of food as if it had been a loved one!! In realizing that i also realized that no matter how bad it was for that time being, i KNEW i had made the right decision because i really really really needed medical intervention to begin a new life!!
Honey you will get through this and i PROMISE you when all is said and done the only regret you will have is not having done this sooner!!!
I'm only 5 months out but i had a really hard time the first few months, and now i feel totally normal...eating differently does NOT mean you cant still LOVE food...i flavor the hell out of my food =)!!!

take care!!

oh yeah.....dont know exactly what stage your in but if its still mushy CLICK HERE! and enjoy =)
