Pretty much what Mariana said plus any personal care items.  All I did was sleep and walk so yes, comfy robe and slippers.  IPOD would be good for some tunes.

Best of luck, you'll do great!!!

I brought a lot of stuff and I was not able to use any of it. Keep it light. I brouht my own protein drinks because the hospital had nasty ones. I was not able to read or play my DS the way I ad hoped. I also didn't wear a bra or underware the whole time because it was so painful to move and put those clothes on and remove them. Plus you will have a cathiter in and don't need panties. I didn't need a robe and i don't think I could have put one on with IV's in both hands. When I walked my steps were so slow and uncordinated that i only wanted to wear socks. Oh and they woke me up by 5:00am every morning and bugged me every hour or two to check my blood pressure and give me shots. My mom stayed in the hospital with me and took care of me. We watched some TV in the room but I mainly triend to nap all day and walk. I was in a lot of pain because I am a wuss and I felt very weak. However, I feel much better now, 3 weeks out. It gets better. Good luck... :)

I also brought lots of entertainment like books but only used my ipod. they had a tv in the room and I just left it on while i dozed in and out of consciousness. Sometimes there would be a lot of noise in the hall or in another room so I would use the ipod and doze in and out. You will probably get some morphine and it doesnt make for good book reading. I remember now looking at some celebrity magazines with lots of pictures but not being able to concentrate on the captions.
My list:
Robe
Slippers
Wipes
Ipod
and protein drinks or vitamins if you want to use your own.

I also only walked and slept.  I kept the tv on to kind of blankly stare at- the pain medicine they gave me made me drowsy and I couldn't concentrate.  I would definitley bring your own pillow.  I brought my own pillow AND blanket!  It was so much more comfortable to use my own stuff rather than the crappy hospital sheets! Good luck!
