i have a really silly question?

so i was wondering if it is easier to gain weight after surgery?

does this have anything to do with our metabolism?

is it really difficult to maintain goal?
or do we just keep losing or gaining once we hit goal?

i dunno...please shed some light on this guys..

thanks

From what I've seen you gain and loose constantly. I am 3 weeks post op. I lost 15lbs at 2-weeks. Then I put on 5lbs. I am back down 4lbs. this week. The dr. told me it was normal.

Regardless of surgery, once you get twords your goal your body will need less calories and you will have to eat less calories in order to keep losing.  It sounds evil, but that's just the way it goes.  We sort of have the leg up on the eating smaller portions but we have to be careful of what food choices we are making and be mindful about snacking.

I really don't know if because of surgery we are prone to gaining weight anymore than anyone else but I wouldn't see why we would.  I think it's a struggle for everyone to keep their weight in check.

All surgeries you may at one time gain weight but  it depends on the surgery you get which will decide how much you will gain.. I believe metabolism has something to do with obesity that is why many people have issues losing and keeping off the weight and others never gain. I believe it will be difficult to maintain your goal if your someone who always had issues losing weight and dieting in the first place. This is a life changing surgery and you may have to make life changing decisions in order to make whatever surgery you choose work in your favor..I say decide what type of person you are and what type of surgery you need to  provide you with the results that you want..

Thanks for the reponse guys..i was just wondering because i kno aur bodies get used to what we have done to it..and i was just thinking that we might be proned to gain the weight at the same rate as a "normal" person since our bodies have adjusted to eating very small portions..i dunno it was just a thought...

but 3500 calories equals a pound....so i guess we will always have the upper hand...

just a random thought..thanks guys..
