so bare with me i am pretty drousy...i got home yesterday yhe 4th of july because the dr told me i was doing ok to go ahead and go (was supposed to leave 5th) Well okay since the my 4th day post op my nose picks up everything and if i don't like the smell i start dry heaving until i eventually throw up a tad bit.  Also i can't have a bowel movement wich make this worse because they pummped me full of air for surgery and i can feel it, it just wont come out. and the only other thing is my stomach aches and aches...were if feels like its just sooooo full and so when i get up i have to hold my tummy because it's so heavy.

so my questions to you guys is....did you experience any of this? and also can anyone help me on what i might try as for  my first 2 weeks liquid....soup makes me so sick and so does tea they gave it to me NON stop and the smell just...yuck.

Any help please would be great!

thanks so much

yeah, it's all normal. Just make sure you have a bowel movement within the next couple of days, or you'll need to talk to your doc. You're going to be pretty out of it for the next two weeks. as for the liquid, it all pretty much tastes terrible or makes you feel sick in those first few weeks. you pretty much just have to suffer through it. good luck!

i hated getting up.. i felt soo weak, so tired. but i had to...

you NEED to walk... it'll wake your intestines up, and once you start fluffing, poop will come out eventually. it took me about 8 days to have a BM.

seriously though.. walk. even around your house, 15 minutes at a time 2 to 3 times a day.. it'll help!

a lot will make oyu sick, too. you have no appetite.. so its a struggle. i ate a lot of dannon lite and fit yogurt, thinned out with skim plus milk. i actually enjoyed the yogurt the *******so had a lot of soups, most of them were like.. medical protein meal replacement powdery soups i got in a care package, but the chicken soup was delish. i also ate really thin cream of farina, with a little bit of splenda on top and thinned with skim plus - initially i thought it made me sick, but it didnt.. and it's pretty good. carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) isn't bad.

youre not going to LOVE anything you're eating at this point, but itll go by. you got this!

I'm only a coup;e weeks out and I know how you feel. I felt so bad after surgery I wished I didn't do it at points. What helped me with the gass pains and bowel movments was walking with my mom. We went to Costco and Walmart and just walked the isles. When I was tired I leaned on the cart or sat in the garden center. It worked for me. The food sucks for the first couple weeks. I liked sugar free popcicles and the cream of wheat. I made 2 cups od cream of wheat at a time and froze it in ice cube trays. Then put them in plastic bags. I poped one cube in the microwave for a min. and added some milk to thin it out. It was yummy. I also like cottage cheese with light jam mixed in. My dr. recomended bleanding it but I never did. I just chewed really well. I felt weak and sick and sore but I am better now almost 3 weeks out. I am so fortunate to be able to eat real food.

The Hydrocodone pain syrup  helped me out with the gas pain and walking alot helped me also.  I drank crystal light and water.  Hope this helps!
