An Update from the long-gone Miami girl~
Hey everyone!
it feels like it's been forever since I've been around... I guess it's just been a little longer than a month, but I've been checking for updates from y'all now and I'm gonna write a quick one about me as well.
I'm doing great- I gained four lbs in the last month and a half, but I'm alright with it really... my life has been quite chaotic and I knew fluctuating, especially at camp, was a real possibility. It's very hard to eat well there... but I make sure that I get my protein in, and don't let the rest bother me.
Basically, I graduated, drove across the country, stopping quickly in my home state to see people, and then reported to camp ozark for my summer job 6 days after grad. it was crazy. I was nervous about telling people there... nervous about what they would think of me, how they would react, etc. That was silly- they were ALL great about it... every one was supportive and encouraging. And being at camp thinner is like nothing I've ever experienced before. I cannot describe it, but if I had to try i'd say this: No shame. No shame- it's a crazy concept, and I didn't even realize all that I'd shyed away from in recent years because of my weight. but now.... the sky is the limit. I went blobbing for the first time in like 10 years, went on the water weenie a million times because it was so easy to hang on and hold my weight, I did the pamper pole which I had been terrified of. I just KNEW that I could keep up with everyone... which was the biggest blessing of all. During the sessions, I even got up and ran on the trails several mornings... I had TONS of energy.
Unfortunately, I managed to get myself pneumonia and the flu, and had to leave early but I'll be back for three more weeks at the end of July. I'm currently recouperating in new orleans.
so, thats me! how is everyone else?
Ann

As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!
Ann! OMG you look incredible! I'm so happy you got past the lap band problems!
Let's see...I'm almost in onederland (crazy)
I'm almost a member of the century club (even crazier)
I graduated too! Hail to Pitt!
I'm a working adult...boo.
That pretty much sums it all! Although on a completely random note: any Western PA peeps/lurkers/infrequent posters, there is a cooking/support group meeting on Saturday. PM me for deets.
