What new things do you do, post-op?
I'm curious what everyone does now they're healthier (or on their road to healthy), and down a ton of weight?
I used to play sports from when i was 6 until about 15, pretty active for a fat girl too, but i lost interest in most physical activity (obviously since i gained so much after age 15 haha). But is there anything you guys do now, physically, that you never thought you'd be doing prior to surgery??
I really hope to love running someday, or even take up a new sport. possibly yoga! But i'm afraid that i'll be lazy still, since the weight just pretty much comes off on its own :\

I played competitive fastpitch softball from age 8 through college. My knees just basically gave out, so I can't do that anymore.
Post-op, I walk about 2 miles a day aside from my regular jaunts from the parking lot to class, I bowl in leagues (summer and winter), and I swim when I get the chance. The walking is something I would have never voluntarily done pre-op.
I know what you mean about playing a sport. I like to do sport-like activites instead of just excercising. It makes me feel like I'm having fun, and not just excercising. Definitely much more motivation there.
Running would be awesome, and it's something that I'd like to do now that I've lost the weight, but unfortunately my joints are too damaged to handle that. Oh well.
Good Luck!!!

I am 4 yrs post, and found during 1st year, I saw a boost in regular activities I've never even noticed such as not being reluctant to bend over to tie my shoelaces, picking up things for people that they drop, and so on.
The second year the weight doesn't drop, so more maintenance is required. I was able to eat more, as my stomach expanded, so had to make decisions about what to eat, and what not to eat. I also started hitting the gym (for fear of the batwings etc). The gym was always fun for me..once I struggled to get ready, pack my bag, drive there, and ACTUALLY walk through the doors. The working out was a piece of cake, it was the journey there that was the struggle! lol.
I lost site of the healthy lifestyle since I met my husband. We just married as of November 2008. But today, I have started back at the gym, and am trying to make healthy eating choices again.
I'm 5'3". I started at 240 lbs, BMI 40 maybe?
My smallest weight was 128 lbs- size 4. (lots of lbs of skin) This weight was difficult to maintain, as my body has spent most of it's years at 150lbs.
My current weight is 144 lbs- size 9.
