loss?
Well with my program and my health insurance (MVP) there is a 10% required weightloss before approval for surgery. I started at 266 so I had to lose 26lbs. I am 1 lb away from pre surgery goal lol. I started this journey in March. Good luck with everything!

I wasn't required to lose any weight before surgery. I had to go on a 6 month physician supervised diet, and guess what...I didn't lose a pound during that time. Shocker.
I was 267 when I went for my surgical consult the first time. By the time I was done fighting with the insurance company (14 months) and was finally approved, I weighed 276. I had to go on a 2 week pre-op diet (1400 cals a day), and in that two weeks, my weight stayed exactly the same.
276 the day of surgery. 184 today, not quite 6 months out.
Good Luck!

I was technically supposed to lose 30 pounds but I only lost 10. I totally slacked off and it made things harder I think so if you've been asked to lose some weight, really try to do it. You'll be glad you did. Since my surgery last April I've lost about 150 pounds.

I'm actually on my pre-op diet right now. I'm required to lose 30 pounds in 3 weeks!! I'm only allowed to drink Metafast protein shakes. I started yesterday and by last night I thought I was going to go crazy...Dr. says he makes his patients do this because of the fatty liver problem most over weight people have. But, why then do other doctors not require it??
