This lady at my job was like. My cusin had gastric bypass and now she has seizers...I cant spell. But yeah! How! I though those were brain issues...nothing to do with your stomach. Everyone is full of BS.

haahahaha, yep sometime people is full of crap lol. but don´t believeme but i think there is a mental desiese realted to wls. Because of the the vitamin deficence. not quite sure tho. i`ll do my reserch and will let u know!.
don`t lisen to the crap u don´t need to deal with other people issues.

 I am pretty sure but don't quote me because I don't follow everything exactly...but I think the women who is really  knowns around here meltingmama actually has been doing research with seizers being related to something with the weight loss surgery she started getting them after I think and has been seeing what she can find thats related...so I wouldnt rule it out to be honest...maybe you if creep up over on her page you can find out something cause I am not exactly sure all the details

So far she's found over 60 wls patients that now have a seizure disorder post-wls. It's definately interesting that's for sure. I'd bet that it has to do with fluid and electrolyte balances and malabsorbption.

Good news...I had surgery and no seizures. Id guess it probably was a dormant issue that came to life for most of these people suffering. Dont let those stories freak you out. To date I have not had ANY issues only a low vitamin D problem which I had BEFORE the surgery. You'll be fine AND healthier :)

Generally the seizures are caused by electrolyte imbalances which are fairly common with WLS and have a significant increase of incidence in malabsorptive procedures. There are documented cases of some patients developing seizure disorders post WLS, but thankfully those are rare occurences.

I have a friend that has seizures after she had her band fitted. She lost her driver's license, which isn't too good.
