First of all, make sure the whey protein is low sugar. Secondly, our bodies can't absorb much more than 30g protein in one sitting, so even if it's 52g, you can't use all of those 52g. Try 1/2 a scoop. It will last longer, you'll get maximum absorption, and you'll save a little $$$.
For recipes, eggface (theworldaccordingtoeggface.com) has awesome recipes so you can mix it up a bit.
My personal favorite whey protein powders are the EAS brand. Chocolate mixed with non-fat milk tastes just like chocolate milk. Blend in a little peanut butter, and OH YEAH YUMMY. I also have the vanilla, and I add SF instant jello pudding mix (just a little) to get some new flavors going.
Good luck!

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to blend any solids into your shakes when you're in the liquid stage, so peanut butter? .... maybe not in the liquid stage...
Also remember peanut butter is very high in fat and calories even if it's a good protein source, so maybe not too much of it if you're going to have it.
