Alcohol Drinks 5 days before surgery?

So all my friends are throwing me a Pre-Surgery celebration party (excuse to party if you ask me. LOL) tonight.  So I was wonderng if having a few drinks tonight will affect my surgery on 6/11/09?  I just want to have my last few beers before not being able to drink for a long, long, long time if ever again.  I'm not an alcoholic but when I go out once a month or every 2 months I like to have 4-5 drinks.  Is that too many 5 days before surgery?  Any advice would help.

Omg when I first read this I thought u were asking if u could drink 5 days AFTER surgery, I was gonna say NOOOO lol but girl before I honestly don't see an issue with it, it will definitely b out of ur system by surgery. Just b very careful after surgery hun cause from what I've seen, alcoholism is the number 1 transfer addiction!!! Aside from that, have fun!!! And good luck with ur surgery, keep us posted!

Check with your doc. I dont remember not being allowed to drink before surgery but I definitely wouldnt want you to do anything to make your healing time longer. Congrats btw!!!

I drank A LOT eight days before my surgery and I was fine... My paper work just said all alcohol out of your system 48 hours prior so i felt a bit on the conservative side going eight days lol... But again everything is at your surgeons discretion

Thanks soo much you guys!  All your advice is great.  I'll be sure to keep my self in check after surgery with drinkning.  I never even knew Alcoholism was the #1 transfer addiction after surgery.  This is why I love OH and all of you guys because I learn sooo much.  I keep you all posted on how I do.

Yeah, I thik youll be fine. My paperwork says no Alcoholic beverages during the 24hrs before surgery. But I guess every docs alil different.

Umm if you are on a preop diet. wi would not do it if i were u. on my good luck party all my friends were having pizza and ice cream and i had a protein shake and i was soo DAMN HAPPY with my shake lol!!!!!!!!

Well I ended up having like 6 beers and I was buzzing.  I'm a cheap date.  It doesn't take much beer to get me drunk.  We played beer pong and I had a blast.  Never played beer pong before and wish I had a longtime ago.  I will post pictures today or tomorrow.
