Hi there! Well I haven't had my surgery yet but I have 2 very close friends that have had this and almost 1 year post-op.  They have told me alot of what to expect.  Some of what you asks they told me to look for also.  I was told they both had a problem falling asleep but that they were both soooo tired they didn't see why they couldn't just crash out.  I was told this was normal because of discompfort and that your body was going through lots of changes? I'm not sure if that makes since. I am just going off of what I was told by these ladies.

Also both of them have told me that when they took showers thats all they could do. That it made them so tired and weak that they just wanted to crash.  I was told it felt like you were running a marathon just after washing.  So I think that may be normal.  I hope that helps, like I said this is just something 2 close friends of mine told me to look for. Best of luck for you and congrats on the WLS!

Totally normal. Crazy ass dreams, thought I was going insane. No energy. All I wanted to do was sleep, sleep, and sleep some more. This lasted from about 3 weeks to 5 weeks. Not a fun period, but your body is just trying to catch up with all of the trauma it has endured. Keep plugging away, and you'll get through it.

Good Luck!

I was just going to ask this same question because I'm a little over a week PostOp and I'm having trouble sleeping. No vivid dreams or anything but I just lay in bed at night and can't fall asleep even though I'm exhausted.  I get really tired taking a shower too, I found that if I make the water a little cooler then I don't get quite as tired...but I still need to rest after.

I'm glad to hear it's normal, just hope it gets better soon :)

Dover Nh?  Not far from me in Boston Ma.

Yeah My water has to be MUCH colder or it feels funny going down.  I also had to switch to Zero Poweraid for the electrolytes because I was so out of it.

You know what I did today -

After I posted that I got on my bathing suit and went to the Pool here in my complex and wow... it really helped me feel better  -  I hope it helps.
