How Soon?
what kindda vacation?
i had my surgery in houston and i live in mexico so i flew back home after 8 day of surgery. and i went back 2 houston 2 months latter for a week. no problem at all!.
and then when i was 7 months out i went to europe for a month with my friends no problem neither. with food or anything
it depends what kindda vacation u have if is a relax weeken at the beach u`ll be fine even a week out.

I would say give yourself at least two weeks to recouperate and to get your energy back. I would be no fun going on vacation if you are too tired to enjoy it. Plus, you will give yourself two weeks of knowing how eating is going to be like, so you won't have any bad food experiences away from home.

just have a food plan.
I find that protein is something that has to be prepared and eaten, not like carbs that you can keep in the car or hotel or wherever.
Fast food is gross even tho you can eat some of it.
sit down restaurants usually have better choices but are more expensive and you have such a large portion!
But BBQ is a winner! I love summer and eating BBQ!
I was really tired for like 2 months after surgery but depends on what you call a vacation. I would have happily gone to a hotel and restaurants vacation, but a camping/cooking on the fire "vacation" I would have laughed at the suggestion. :)

There are a lot of ideas floating around, so we're not sure what vacation, yet. I think Disney World would exhaust me if I will be getting drained easily in the first few months, so maybe something relaxing like Savannah? I don't know.. I should probably just take it easy and quit trying to go all over the place until I feel better!
PS - Am very excited! I saw my surgeon this morning (here at work, he was doing another surgery and I translated) and got even more excited!
