Has anyone had difficulties losing weight before the surgery. I am doing everything they are asking me to do but it seems like im not losing any weight. Its gotten me really discouraged and I dont know what to do. Any suggestions?

I lost 10lbs pre op by drinking slim fast for breakfast and eating healthy the rest of the day doing 3 meals and two snacks. Try to start eating like you will post op, lots of protein with veggies and a little fruit.  I still eat carbs but try to limit them and make sure it's loaded with fiber and whole grains.  Invest in a digital food scale if you can so you will know how much you are actually eating.

Drink plenty of water, aim for at least 64oz a day.  Green tea is great too.  Try to cut out carbonated beverages and/or caffinee if you can.  If you like coffee, a great sweet treat is to take some sugar free Torani syrup, skim milk and coffee and make a low fat/sugar latte.

Exercise!!!  I think that's what helped me, exercising hard for about an hour most days of the week and I picked up the habit and still do it to this day.

Try logging your food and exercise so you can see your progress.  Plus, if you track your food you are less likely to mindlessly eat.   www.fitday.com is what I use.

Best of luck to you!
