Makeover time
Im at about 6 months post op, lost about 80 lbs. Im nearing my 26th bday and wondering if anyone else did a big makeover after losing weight?
I have been adoring styles and hair cuts for years but never wanted to do anything like that because
1 some styles do not work on a big girl no matter how confident you are
2 I dont want to draw any more attention to myself then I already do by being grossly overweight.
Now that I have gotten back to the size I was in high school I am wearing clothes I saved, coloring my hair and pretty much resumed what I looked like before I gained so much weight.
I also have gotten lots of drama from my family who thinks Im too old to look like this, and just general dislike of my choice of style. Lucky me my husband says "do what makes you happy" so I have one on my side. Also my daughter says things like "oh mommy you are so beauuuuuutiful!"
anyone else got some makeover pics?
anyone else get slack for looking different now that you lost weight and your not trying to blend in anymore?

26!!! NO WAY girl you are not too old to be dressing how you want, coloring your hair etc.
Like you said in your profile, you have pretty much been living your like "on pause" so tell your family you just unpaused your life. Since you were 19 when you hit pause all the more reason to dress and do your hair as if you are still 19 :) JMHO
Lookin good girl!

You are never too old to be you, girl! I'm 28 and go through different looks as often as I breathe. It's the artistic side of me.
I definitely don't try to blend in anymore. When I was chunky, I couldn't fit into the fun and cute stuff. I was a size 3 X and growing, and all the stuff they had available was big flower mumu type prints. It was slim pickings.
Now, I have so many places to choose from! If anything, I stand out. With my pink hair, you can't lose me in a crowd! I am completely comfortable in most everything I wear..except stuff that flashes the girls. I'm conscious of how they sag. ew. I don't think I had a makeover, as my look changes drastically from day to day. I've done gothic, innocent, young, sporty, sexy, girl next door, spacey, country, etc.
I've been told by many I have a great eye for fashion. Before the surgery, my boyfriend at the time laughed when I told him I wanted to be a fashion designer...he isn't laughing now.
